Renowned Swedish axe maker, Wetterlings Axe Works, has teamed up with Les Stroud from Survivorman, to produce what they call the Bushman Axe. The axe has a release date of November 2012 and looks to be an intriguing design for back country travel. The specific details have yet to be released, but rumor has it that is will weigh in the 2 lb. range and have a handle around 24 inches.

I have been on the lookout for a nice half axe for camping and winter travel and this just might be the axe I have been looking for. I am pretty excited about the release of this axe pattern and thought that I would share it with all my readers.
Take care,
Dave
I really like Wetterlings axes will have to keep a lookout for the one you mentioned. After reading your post I listed what I like to carry in the field on my blog at frontiercarpenter if your interested.
Cool, thanks for the comment. I took a look at your blog and your bolo’s. I will have to post one of my Tramontina Bolo and a 14″ Pict type one that I made a little while back. Take care.
